I feel lost!!
It has been a month since my last posting, simply for the reason of the World Cup!! And now that it's past and gone....I feel so lost!!
For a whole month I've been religously following the games and I could literally say that my life was CAKAP BOLA, MAKAN BOLA, MINUM BOLA, MANDI BOLA AND TIDO BOLA...while everything was put on a halt. Luckily I'm not attached or have other responsibilities other than to myself, or else....adios amigos. The thing is, I'm not your ordinary football hardcore fan. I dont watch the European League, English League, Seria A or whatever you call them....it's just the World Cup, its an every 4 years thingy. Like waiting for a passing meteor you might say.
There's something about the WC that makes it magical. The mood, the feeling and the aura is special. Everybody speaks the same language and has only one desire. That's where the best players of a country will strut their skills and stuff. Here is where the best stallion will be picked by the best clubs. Even the drama is great this time around. I think Cristiano Ronaldo has perfected the art of diving to a tee.
I'm happy as well that both of my favourite teams were in the finals, eventhough I feel that the Argentinians should have gone further. I've always supported the Azzurris but I've only found Zidane here in this WC. He has this cool and calm personality that binds and ties the Les Bleus. It was sad to see him part the way he did. I think he deserves some much better. I guess its all written down. Anyhow, the silver lining is that he deserves the Best Player Award for his perseverance and determination to prove to the critics that the Les Bleus has got what it takes to lift the Cup. I think we all agree that if Zidane was not red carded, they had an equal if not better chance of taking the Cup home.
Now, the big question in everyones mind and lips are "WHAT DID MATERAZZI SAY TO ZIDANE??!!"
I know a lot of people don't agree with his actions, as he was suppose to keep his cool no matter what. But I feel that if Materazzi did utter some racist or grave insults to Zidane, then he deserve what he got and he should be reported to FIFA. Afterall, we've seen players get into a fight for a lot less, so when it's about a matter regarding you or your family's honour, you should be given the right to show dissatisfaction and defend your honour, if Materazzi did say such things la. But for someone to provoke and made the Ice King break, I'm sure it was a grave insult.
So, what have I been doing lately, you might ask...I've been watching the reruns of the WC on Astro, reading papers on anything regarding the WC and surfing the net to find out "WHAT DID MATTERAZZI SAY TO ZIDANE!!!" Sigh.......I need a life!
